Assessing and improving quality.

Assessing and improving quality. Assignment Assignment for Test 2 Create six (6) questions and answers for the second test. Please make: 2 short answer 2 true/false 2 situation/case study • 2 short answer/memory questions (short answer = usually no more than 2-3 sentences) • 2 true/false or short fill-in-the blank • 2 situation/case study like the questions in handout 14.1 or the situation questions you wrote for the 6 M/P tools [handout 17.1]. ______________________________________________________________________________________ 1 NMs now in NUTR 333: in case you haven’t checked it, your final for that class is scheduled immediately before the 383 final...across campus. ________________________________________________________________________________________ 2 HSPT 383[2151]/Fall 2015 22.1 © CJ Wallington 2015 14 October 2015 Assignment (cont’d) Your last two questions Your situation/case questions must be a sort of case study question or situation question to test someone’s knowledge about one or more of the quality control tools or an overall quality process. ¿Case study question? ¿Wazzat? A case study question describes a situation in a paragraph or several sentences (as I hope you did in assignment 17.1). Then it asks a question about the situation. If in 17.1, you had not told what the tool was used or what the tool did, but asked a question about what tool or how a tool would be used, that would be a situation/case question. Example: question 11– Test 1 Think back to question 11 (the tofu burrito problem at Michael’s vegehealthy restaurant) on your first test (13.1?). You may remember that it described a situation in which the tofu burrito was a Kano competitive factor–but with some distractors. That was a teeny case study or situation question. You must make two similar questions for the coming test. Submit electronically in myCourses dropbox Make sure you get an affirmation from myCourses You must submit this assignment in electronic format in the myCourses dropbox. Do not send it by regular e-mail unless the dropbox does not work. If everything is working all right, you should get a message from myCourses saying what you submitted was received all right. Due date: 1100 Friday 23 October (in the dropbox) The due date for your questions is Friday morning, 23 October by 11AM. That might give me enough time to get the review sheet done...I hope so. Please: no lame excuses Don’t wait until the last minute Content should be from the last test through next Wednesday Spelling+grammar count After 11AM that Friday the dropbox will be closed. Excuses other than major accidents and health will not be accepted–and maybe not even major accidents. Don’t wait until the last minute or say that you forgot. You have plenty of lead time. Even though the test will cover all material since the first class, focus on content since the last test including this class and the next three classes. Of course, spelling and grammar will count. Grading Questions that force the test-taker to think2will get a ______________________________________________________________________________________ 2 Well, at least force those who actually want to do so. ________________________________________________________________________________________ 14 October 2015 © CJ Wallington 2015 HSPT 383 [2151]/Fall 2015 22.1 3 Assignment (cont’d) higher grade than questions that simply require the test-taker to state something from memory. Fewer points for simply memory questions Special warning: no automatic full points! Please, do think! Special interest questions and chuckle questions... In fact questions that require only memory (except for the short answer/memory questions) will get fewer than the maximum amount of points. Think carefully and write clever questions. Maybe think-y ones, too.3 Amusing or interesting questions might get beer tokens or my eternal gratitude or some extra grade points. 4 You may use the content from any materials (including worksheets and related text readings), but you may not use previous questions from tests, handouts, class examples, or your graded assignments. The idea is to think of new things. Be original–painful as it might be! ______________________________________________________________________________________ 3 Maybe Hailie will come up with a spin-off of that “How are a matrix and a relationship similar and how are they different in that similarity?” If she can come up with one like that. she’s got it made. Or maybe Alex will read her mind...or maybe just come up with a brilliant one of his own...or maybe... 4 Let’s be honest, it won’t be eternal gratitude. But maybe a few seconds’ worth...which doesn’t compare at all with beer tokens. The doctor knows the storm will be here in about two days. A lot of the building work has been done, but he has some to finish before the final activation phase during the storm. What two tools (any kind or any level) would probably be most helpful for him to bring his creature to life? Why those tools?
