Book Analysis: The Goal, A Process of Ongoing Improvement/Author: Eliyahu M. Goldratt/Edition: Any Edition will suffice

One of the requirements to successfully complete this course is the preparation of a formal Book Analysis to be turned in on, or before, the date indicated (see Topical Course Outline for exact date). Grading of the Book Analysis will be both on content as well as on presentation. Following is pertinent information for the Student’s use and consideration as the Book Analysis is prepared. Goldratt Edition: Any Edition will suffice Most bookstores in San Antonio have this book in their shelves or it can be purchased on-line. The formal Book Analysis should be a maximum of five double-spaced typewritten pages. As previously mentioned organization and presentation will be considered in the overall grade. Each student is free to decide on the format but the following must also be included as part of the Book Analysis. The objective of this Book Analysis is: For the student to demonstrate a high degree of understanding of the overall course materials as presented in class and the e-text. For the student to demonstrate the relationship between the book’s content and the materials covered in class and the course textbook. · For the student to demonstrate the relationship between the book’s contents and the student’s work experiences, the student’s life experiences, the student’s future plans. · For the student to demonstrate a high degree of understanding of the book’s contents. · From a Reader’s point-of-view, the student should critique the book and express opinions and recommendations. Does the student feel this is a real problem in today’s world? Does the student recommend this book? If they do, to whom? · The book analysis consists of an introduction and overall presentation that reflects the work of an upper level college student.
