The speech needs to have a persuasive argument. Using the proposition that you wrote for the speech (it was on the blue paper we completed in class), the third point of the speech should address the persuasive purpose of the speech. Guidelines: 1. You will write a persuasive speech using the same topic as your informative speech and you will deliver the speech using extemporaneous delivery. 2. You will use a speaking notes outline to prepare the speech as well as during the delivery of the speech. More information will be given in class about how to construct speaking notes. USE KEY WORDS ONLY — DO NOT WRITE OUT THE SPEECH WORD FOR WORD. 3. You will use 1-2 visual aids during the speech that follow the guidelines discussed in class. 4. You will use a minimum of three sources for your speech. You will use the 7th edition MLA style guide for formatting your works cited page. 5. You will deliver the speech within the appropriate time frame: 6-7 minutes. 6. You may use the podium for the speech. 7. You will exhibit effective technical and stylistic skills as discussed thus far in the course. 8. You will dress appropriately for your speech (for example: men: khakis and a button-down and women: nice pants/skirt and blouse). 9.
