Select a grade level to investigate. 2. Determine which of the four core content areas in which you are most interested- (Math,ELA, Science, Social Studies) 3. Select a TEKS that is tested on the TAKS, STAAR, or STAAR EOC. 4. Research your district curriculum to determine how it is taught (the work plan). • Determine the vertical alignment (what grade level below and above the selected grade is this student expectation taught?) • State exactly what is written 5. Locate and submit a lesson plan and\or instructional calendar to show when and how the skill is taught. An alternative is to interview a teacher of the selected grade to determine how the TEK is taught. 6. Show examples of how the skill is tested on TAKS, STAAR .You may also include classroom assessment and district assessment of the TEK.
