For this assignment, students will select one out of two pre-recorded interviews on someone who works in the early childhood sector. This will act as the basis of the assignment. Please ensure you are following the guidance provided and referring to the rubric. Learning Outcomes Please ensure you check that your work has included content referring to each of the learning outcomes (see table below) LO1 Discuss critically and analytically the issues relating to leadership and management in the early years LO2 Demonstrate an understanding of current legal frameworks that affect early years provision LO5 Demonstrate sound academic skills in formative and summative assessments LO6 Critically evaluate strategies of developing and maintaining partnerships within the early years including those relating to multi-agency working. The Interview Summary (500 Words) • Must be written in full paragraphs • Must cover the interview summary criteria (e.g contextual information) • Must be focused on one interview. The 500-word summary will need to include the following: Contextual information: What are the roles and responsibilities of the leader / manager in the case study? Identification of Challenges / Issues: What challenges and / or issues affects the interviewee in their role? Impact of Challenges / Issues: Using the findings relating to the challenges / issues, what impact do / could they have / could have on the setting and service users (i.e. parents, children, staff and other professionals?) Submitting Coursework 2 to Turnitin (2500 Words) When submitting your work to Turnitin for Coursework 2, please ensure that you have met the following: • Your Student ID number is on your work and in the Turnitin title / subject bar • You have submitted the correct assignment to the correct module* • You have a complete critical essay comprising of 2500 words (+/- 10%)^ • You have included the 500-word interview summary • You have attached the front sheet and chosen your 3 areas for feedback. Please note that assignments which are under the minimum word count of 3000 (2700 words minimum for both the essay and summary) will be deemed incomplete and lose marks. Please ensure you have your complete and final draft submitted. Using the interview, you will write a 2500 word critical essay based on the findings from the interview. The essay will consider the potential strategies, actions and approaches that that they could adopt as an early childhood leader / manager, to address the issues and challenges identified by the interviewee. Students will need to consider the limitations as well as the benefits of their chosen strategies, actions and approaches. Students will also need to consider the policies and / or legislation and the professionals / organisations / agencies which could support their chosen strategies, actions and approaches. The essay’s conclusion will include a brief summary of the student’s own personal learning on leadership and management in relation to the module and / or Coursework 2.
