Ecological Footprint and its impact on the Built Environment

The paper should be based on the Ecological Footprint, and aimed towards the impact it has on the Built Environment - need an annotated bibliography with 5 sources as soon as possible! I am late with that already. - need a first draft as soon as possible as well, I should have had that by today, this does not need to be too complex, it is in the attached instruction -Final draft is due December 9 DETAILS This mid-term assignment represents 25% of your course grade. While the intent is that this piece could be useful to you elsewhere (funding application, literature review) you may not submit work for which you have received or will receive credit in another class. This is an individual assignment. If you have questions about proper plagiarism, citation, appropriate collaboration or other concerns please see me as soon as possible. There are several intermediate deadlines, which are intended to guide you through the process and discourage procrastination. The items below assume a fairly conventional research paper; if your project will involve primary research by you or otherwise does not fit the schedule comfortably, please talk to me to discuss adapting the schedule to your needs. 1. November 10: Research Topic. Submit a brief (not more than 250 words) written description of your intended topic and approach for review and approval. Note that if you plan to do "Choose your Own adventure" you must define it and submit for approval in this topic/proposal stage. 2. November 19: Annotated Bibliography. While you will doubtless refer to a great many sources, for this deadline you must identify, a minimum of six reliable sources for your topic, such as books, peer- reviewed papers or government publications and provide correctly formatted bibliographic citations. For each source, you will annotate this citation with a brief written summary and analysis, generally between two hundred and five hundred words. The summary is not an abstract, it should highlight the major findings or key content in a few sentences: the bulk of the annotation should provide your analysis, situate the resource relative to other seminal works, and articulate the use of this information. This annotated bibliography is a tool for you as you continue your research, and while it is not submitted in the final report, I encourage you to add all your sources and annotate them in this way. 3. November 24: Outline and Draft Thesis or Hypothesis. The outline should organize the major sections of your final report, identifying the key evidence or sources you will use to build your argument in each section, and cartoon versions of the key illustrations, charts, graphs or other elements you will need. The thesis or hypothesis should be clearly indicated for detailed review. 4. December 1: Second Draft (OPTIONAL). If you wish, you may submit a complete manuscript to me to review. Before submitting you must (at a minimum) use software spelling and grammar checks and personally proofread a first draft copy. This draft is not for copy-editing: my review will focus on content, organization and clarity of expression so papers that are incomplete or clearly not edited will be returned without benefit of comments. 5. December 10: Final Report. Due by 5:00 pm on paper, or emailed to me. The exact format, length etc. will of course depend on your project, but should be commensurate with the requirements for a graduate level class final project.
