It is important that all prospective financial planners understand the historical context and development of the profession that they plan to enter. As such, you are to complete a book report on the Brandon and Welch text The History of Financial Planning: The Transformation of Financial Services. Within the report you are to convince me that you have indeed read the entire book. Taking chapter notes with comments as you read the text should help in this exercise. Your report must be well-written and thought out with strong evidence of critical thinking. The report should be written in 12 pt. font, double spaced, and have 1 inch margins. Create a “Top 10 List” of 10 things that you learned from this book. Write your own test of 10 questions from the book – you may use a combination of matching, multiple choice, true/false, short answer, and essay. Discuss - in depth - the relevance of the book’s title. Write a letter to the authors, Brandon and Welch, expressing your impressions and opinions of their book. Use two other sources to research and write a report on an issue from the book. Design a time-line for events in the book.
