House Building Project - Team MOP Order Description Let me refresh your memory. WBS, sometime referred to as the project breakdown structure (PBS), is a hierarchical family tree of project elements. It is a delivery- oriented grouping of project sub-systems and task elements. These task elements define the various hardware, software, and service components of a specified project or program. WBS is the backbone of the project plan. It represents the hierarchical decomposition of the project into subsystems and tasks. Each component contains at least the �triple constraints� information of delivery, schedule, and budget. This assignment is preamble to the next assignment in which you will utilize the MSP to develop the WBS and the network schedule on your selected Case. To develop the network diagram or schedule, the simplest way is to start from the FINISH of the project (remember every project has a start and an end) and work your way through the network toward the START of the project. In developing the network, you must observe the precedence relationships. If your team can physically be able to meet in person or if you want to do this individually and then agree on a final version, you may utilize sticky notes to do this. Simply write down every task/activity of the project on each sticky note and start from the end (FINISH) working toward the beginning (START) of the project (please watch the video file "How to develop project network schedule" - Video file: Tutorial4.wmv, which is attached below. Since building the netwrok schedule on your actual Case could be complicated, I have attached a file named "House Building Project") which has 17 tasks (indicated by red font) along with their duration and predecessors (all indicated in red font), the file is attached here at the top of instructions. The WBS column is also shown but you need not to worry about it now, you will deal with that in your next assignment. If your memory is still rusty on this assignment please start with a review of the project network or project schedule and find out how they are related to the WBS. Although the assignment is asking for the manually drawn network diagram, but please use either a Word file, PowerPoint or an Excel file to draw your diagram and submit that.
