Infinity Contracting Company Ltd.

    The company was established in 1972 in UAE as a small civil contracting firm that cater for individuals constructing residential units. Since then the Company is growing from a strength to another. In the last ten years, they have won big governmental contracts to build big number of residential units. Based on this success, the Company decided to venture into two business lines: a) construction of mega infra-structure projects; and b) executing civil projects outside the UAE. The Company is owned currently by five local shareholders. They have entered into strategic partnership with a Spanish-based engineering and construction firm for the infra-structure projects. The Spanish partner owns 25% of the total shares of the Company. Current position:- The financial performance is healthy, but rather declining in profit making since last their years (from US$ 180 million, 86 down to 32 million last year).- The company has lost major projects, mainly on price, in the last three years for new competitors from China, India and Greece.- The Company failed to win any project outside UAE in last year. Requirement: 1. Process Architect: As part of the PA, you are asked to draw a very high level Organisation Process View detailing as much as possible a) the strategic processes, b) core processes; and c) support services2. Construct a register of all possible internal and external stakeholders, and list the main expectation of each 3. Each syndicate will focus on one business line; either the residential units or the infra-structure projects. Select the whole business line as a construction process. Suggest process metrics that can be used to measure baseline performance as well as benchmarking tool for future process revamp project4. Draw a process model (end-to-end full model) for the selected process5. List at least two possible root causes that can be linked with the challenges mentioned above6. Brain storm to come up with some innovative solution(s) that can help improve this process7. Reflecting back on the process model, indicate what are the main process or capabilities changes that are required to implement the suggested process improvement
