Integrated Transport

Order Description Design a policy and implementation plan for a transport planning topic of your choosing that you think is central to addressing a contemporary transport challenge in Victoria. Planning a transport system for the 21st Century City involves addressing significant challenges including increased demand, resource depletion and climate change, ageing infrastructure, financial constraints, and changing demographics, to name only a few. For this assignment, choose a transport planning topic/challenge of interest to you and design a policy and implementation plan for it. This essay requires you to: 1. Select a transport topic/area of interest to you (e.g. TODs, PPPs, active transport, network planning etc) 2. Using the knowledge you have gained during the semester, justify why your topic is an important public issue and transport challenge. You may like to consider historical factors. 3. Design a transport policy and implementation plan that addresses the topic/area you have selected 4. Provide an evidence based justification for how your policy and implementation plan contributes to addressing your selected topic/area of interest 5. Compare and contrast, in an analytical manner, the different issues and debates within your chosen transport policy area, and provide evidence to support the approach your have taken in the design of your policy and implementation plan. 6. Include a one-page summary outlining how you would advocate to engage key stakeholders and the community in accepting your policy. This summary may take the form of bullet points, a mind map etc identifying key stakeholders you would engage, mediums you would use to promote the policy etc. In your policy implementation plan, you may like to use sub-headings and should include maps, relevant photographs, tables and the like. All such additions should be referenced in the body of your report (not just plonked in to fulfil this suggestion). Reference should be made to at least three required readings.
