1500 words ‘Assess the extent to which States are open to international rules within their national legal systems.’ OBJECTIVE: The objective of this essay is for students to discuss and evaluate the interaction between international and national law based on the diffeºrent means of implementation of international law within national legal systems. INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETION OF THE ASSIGNMENT: Students are expected to present the assignment in the form of an essay of not exceeding 1500 words. Students are expected to refer to the recommended textbooks as well as demonstrate independent research by collating and analysing information from external sources such as legal journals/articles and other relevant texts and materials. Students should provide a detailed bibliography identifying sources. The bibliography does not form part of the overall word count. Where cases are cited please write the name of the case in italics.
