Internship report
Make an internship report, assume that you did an internship with Walmart or Carrefour hypermarkets, I did my internship company called UNION COOP in Dubai, just accounting information as any finance and accounting department should do, I will add and modify the report
INTERNSHIP ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
I. GENERAL FORMATTING
1. The report should be typed on A-4 size paper.
2. 1.25 cm margin is required on all sides.
3. The report may be around 12 pages (excluding title, table of content, List of tables /figures, acknowledgment, executive summary and appendices).
4. Sections should be numbered using either Arabic or Latin numerals.
5. All figures and tables should be:
a. Clear and neat and included in Appendix.
b. Numbered with Arabic numerals.
c. Conform to the sections that they are listed in.
d. Cited in the text before they appear in the appendix.
e. Figure and table captions should be short and informative.
6. The report should be proof read for grammar and typing errors before being submitted to the Academic Supervisor.
II. REPORT SECTIONS
The report should include the following sections in the order given below:
1. Cover Page
The Cover Page should include the following information:
a. The report’s title.
b. Student’s full name and I.D. number.
c. Student’s concentration and name of the College.
d. Academic year and semester.
e. Name of the internship provider
f. Names of the academic supervisor and field supervisor
2. Table of Contents
It should indicate the corresponding page number for each section.
3. List of Tables / Figures
4. Acknowledgement It is dedicated to give credit to people who have contributed in the completion of the project.
5. Executive Summary
It is a brief (approx. 300 words) condensation of the report. It should summarize objective, tasks, achievements and major contributions.
6. Introduction
A brief description on the structure of the company followed by the departments that you were assigned to work in. In addition, the subsequent sections shall be highlighted.
7. Core Content (Critical Evaluation of the Company)
a. Evaluation of Corporate Resources (Sample of questions to be addressed by the students doing internship in the following College of Business Administration (CBA) concentrations):
Accounting Intern
1. With regard to the corporation’s accounting cycle:
a. Does the corporation use a computerized or a manual accounting system?
b. If the system is computerized, what accounting software is used?
c. What are the source documents used in the accounting system?
d. What books are used in the corporation to record financial transactions?
e. Which set of accounting standards does the corporation use to report its financial performance?
2. With regard to the evaluation of corporation’s performance, based on the annual reports of the corporation for the last two years the student is required to prepare:
a. A trend analysis of the corporation’s performance.
b. Common size financial statements.
3. Regarding the corporation’s budgetary system:
a. What are the corporation’s budgeting procedures?
b. What is the role of each party participating in the budgeting process?
c. How the corporation uses the budgets to evaluate actual performance?
8. Tasks, Achievement and contributions to the company
Discuss your approach in tackling your set of tasks to meet your stated purpose and objectives. Elaborate on your contribution to the company and value added to your knowledge including how you applied business / IT concepts in the internship. The success or failure during the work should be discussed critically.
9. Conclusions and Recommendations
As conclusion for your report, you need to write about the following:
a. Recommended solutions to problems identified within the company.
b. Recommendations to improve the internship program and/or the relation with the internship provider.
10. References
References to cited literature, if any, should be identified in the text and grouped after the last section in an appropriate standard format.
11. Appendices
Appendices are:
a. Details that your reader may need in order to replicate your work. It should not be used as a “dumping” area for equations, figures, and data tables.
b. Weekly Reports (All 7 weekly reports should be enclosed to your report)

4. Grade Penalties
4.1 Absence in the Internship Orientation Day will result in a penalty of 5% deduction of the total internship grade.
4.2 Late uploading of the final report on Moodle will result in a penalty of 10% deduction of the final report mark.
