•The economic recession of the last few years saw employees at the receiving end of job insecurity, layoffs, tight budgets, minimal or no pay raises, benefit cuts, no bonuses, and long hours doing the work of those who had been laid off. Assuming that you were a manager during these difficult times, how would you motivate your employees?

You have just learned that you computer hardware budget for next year is $12,000. This is enough to replace 4 of the 10 machines with state of the art equipment.
A. Considering the Chapter on Communications, what method(s) will you use to communicate this information to your group. Why did you select this method or these methods?
B. What approach will you use to decide who gets the four new machines (and who has to keep their existing machines)? (Examples: People with most years with the company get the machines, most productive employees get the new machines, people with the worst current machines get the new machines .... There are many possible ways to make this decision, I have listed just a few).
C. Once the decision is made, how will you communicate your decision?
D. What impact do you think your decision will have on the 6 people who do not get new machines and what will you do to maintain their level of motivation?
