Management of innovation and change - discussion
Order Description
While allied to the point, the Moss Kanter (10.1) and then Hudson Splashdown (10.2) videos really got me thinking about the question: Is the term “change agent” a consultant’s sick joke? Several
high profile change agents in high profile companies have lost their jobs recently precisely because they were more change than agent. It almost seems that managers who sell themselves as a change
agent upon their ascension create a target for critics – and an easy “fail”.
Given the importance of change in a dynamic business environment, perhaps we have become far too focused on bringing in and creating change agents when change should be more local and “native”, and
definitely more about empowerment. Do you agree or disagree?
