Music Format • 10 pages, double spaced, submitted electronically and in hard copy • Sources should include at least one book, one journal , one internet site • Citations, paraphrases (either footnotes or end notes), a bibliography in MLA format • Lists of works or other lists may be included as an annex, in addition to the 10 pages of the body of the paper. Assessment criteria will include: Personal reflection • Consistency of the thesis • Clear organization of reasoning in support of thesis • Link between introduction and conclusion (you raise the issues and address them). Critical analysis • An original descriptive analysis of at least one musical composition • Knowledge of the historical and cultural context • Capacity to perceive the musical elements and form that are meaningful in the composition Writing skills- • Capacity to express and convey ideas in a clear and articulate way • Use of relevant and discipline specific vocabulary • Spelling and grammar • Accurate bibliography and citations
