Nursing Research & Evidence Based Practice Order Description Here are the guidelines for this post: Discussion Board #3 Original Post Directions: (research article will be uploaded for you) Use either a randomized controlled trial, quasi-experimental study, or a quantitative descriptive study (e.g. cross sectional characteristics study) to present in your discussion board. You must critique the article for this discussion board on the following points and present your view of the article’s strengths and limitations. A. In your presenting summary of the article in your own words, identify the following characteristics of the study: (8 points) 1. Place the title of the article in quotes in the title of your post. 2. The purpose of the study (Note: Cite the article but do not put the title of the article in the summary. It will be in your reference list at the bottom your post.) 3. Presence of a theoretical framework (i.e. theory) or lack of one. a. Also provide the name of the theory/theoretical framework. 4. The variables and note if the role of each variable (i.e. independent, dependent, covariate, descriptive variable of the sample population, predictive variable). 5. Approval of an Institutional Review Board. 6. The sample of the study. 7. An intervention if one is used in the study. 8. Study design (i.e. randomized controlled trial, quasi-experimental, descriptive, etc.) B. In your closing summary, present your view of the article’s strengths and limitations. (10 points) C. Use APA format to write, cite, and provide your reference. (2 points) (Note: For maximum point consideration of original post, your post should be thorough and concise. The post should be no less than 200 words and no more than 250 words.
