Personal Development Project:

In this assignment you will integrate course knowledge with self-awareness and growth. This is a self-directed, action-oriented project to be completed over the course of the semester. You are encouraged to explore a new activity and research this activity to enhance your personal development. The focus is on in addition to your academic and professional life. No exercise, diet, or weight loss projects accepted. Exceptions: walking or yoga; drinking more water; reducing caffeine or sugar. However I encourage you to consider a project that enhances your personal growth. (examples: meditation, yoga, walking, stress reduction, time management, social responsiveness, spiritual insight, learn a new skill-art, music, photography, cooking). Your project will include 1) a weekly journal of your experience and progress (what did you do each day or each week to execute your new skill and what did you observe/how will you measure progress? 2) a written summary identifying your specific objectives and strategies for personal development, evaluation of your accomplishment, and reflection of the over-all impact of the project. (Did you meet your goals-why or why not? What did you learn about yourself? How has this project affected you and will you continue on?) 3) integrate research on your topic to enhance your learning and benefit of the experience. *Minimum Length-5 pages, including your log/journal, double-spaced, typed, and written in complete sentences and paragraph form with clear transitions between sentences/paragraphs. Title page, citations/references are required to show the sources you applied from your research. There is no required template for the project as long as it is organized. Add your journal at the end of your paper (See weekly course schedule and announcement sections for due date).
