Describe an experience you or someone you know has had with birth control, abortion, or sterilization and how you felt about it. Reflect on ways in which societal views of women and/or mothers affected your experience. If you have a religious affiliation, describe it, the role of women in your religious organization, the role of women in the clergy, and changes in this religious organization concerning women in the time you have been involved. If you do not have a religious affiliation, describe your observations of the role of religion in other’s lives and the impact religion has on women. Describe a work experience you have had. Describe the work itself, the working conditions, the division of labor in the work setting, how decisions were made about the work people did, and the rewards of the work. Consider if there were any gender differences in the type of work people did, the conditions under which people worked, and the decision-making process, and the rewards of the work. Describe a situation in which you or someone you know has been sexually harassed in an educational or work setting. Write about the positions the people involved in the experience held in the organization, the behavior of the harasser, the response of the person sexually harassed, and the consequences for the people involved. Reflect on ways that power, relationships, and the institutional environment might have influenced what happened. Write about an experience in which you or someone you know had less income or fewer resources than others. Describe how you felt about the experience and yourself. Reflect on what you learned or are learning from this experience. Describe the worse housing or neighborhood situation you or someone you know has had. (This may include not having a place to live.) Reflect on what made it such a bad situation and discuss ways it could have been improved.
