Draft a policy paper which addresses the following: Whether Australia’s current immigration policy breaches international human rights law, and whether individual asylum-seekers (or their lawyers) can seek redress. Whether Australia’s current immigration policy breaches domestic human rights law, and whether individual asylum-seekers (or their lawyers) can seek redress. Whether the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court will accept a referral for Crimes Against Humanity allegedly committed in off-shore detention camps and whether the candidate would be exposed to prosecution if the policy was maintained. Whether the maintenance of this policy could threaten Australia’s seat at the Human Rights Council, or otherwise impair Australia’s influence. Whether the amendment of any aspect of the immigration policy would bring Australia in line with International Human Rights Law principles. You have also been advised to address any other matter you consider relevant to this brief.

Your candidate is not sufficiently across the human rights law issues relevant to immigration policy.
