In the next few weeks we will have discussed various readings on social media, both in groups and as a class. Now it is time for you to take a stand and state your opinion.Whichever topic you choose and whichever case you wish to make, you must support it with evidence. Choose One Topic: Texting and Language: Do you believe that the texting dialect will be a part of a new, evolving language or do you think it will end up destroying the English language as we know it? Social Media Apps: To what extent do smart phone social apps, like Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat, affect traditional (face-to-face) interactions between people? For this essay you will need to present your argument and show the reader why your side is valid. Remember: you need to address your WHY. Chapter 7 in They Say, I Say goes into the importance of “saying why it matters”. Review this chapter to help you make your position a strong one.
