rasism and equity on higher education
e from the faculty prospective or for student or campus climate
and all of the has to articles and not long and scholarly ( i don't need any books or long chapter )
1. Read the article. Identify the key ideas in that source. Use the
subheadings to help you. In the first column, list the key idea in a few
words. In the next column (Source 1 column), describe how that source
explained the key idea. List and explain all of the key ideas that you find
in the first source.
2. THEN, read the next source. As you are reading, look for the ideas that
you found in the first source. Hopefully, since this article is about the
same topic, you will see some of the same ideas (although the explanation may
be a bit different). When you find a key idea you have already listed, fill
in that section of the matrix with the explanation of how Source 2 explains
that idea.
3. Source 2 will probably have some key ideas that were not found in Source
1. So... under the last key idea from Source 1 (in the first column), start
to list the new ideas from Source 2. Move over to the Source 2 column and
describe the key idea in that column.
4. Repeat the same procedure with each source. Your list of key ideas will
grow longer with each source. Hopefully, since these articles are about the
same topic, you will find them discussing many of the same ideas and you will
start to see overlap horizontally. REMEMBER,however, that you will probably
NOT fill in a row all of the way across. It will be rare that every article
will share the same key idea.
