Shells and disk Methods
1. Calculate the volume of a hershey kiss using the cylindrical shell method:
To model the hershey kiss shape rotate the region bound by the graph of
f(x) = (x-1)^2 +1, 0 less than or equal to x that is less than or equal to 1
- (x-1)^2 + 1, 1 is less than x that is less than or equal to 2
and the x axis from x= 0 , x=2, around the y axis.
2.Calculate the volume of a Reeses peaut better cup shape using the disk method
To model the Reese's peanut butter cup shape, create a region bound by:
- The line y= 3/2
- The line y= 0
- The y -axis
-The line segment between points (3/2,3/2) and (1,0)
Rotate this region around the y-axis.
