The Digital Transformation of Education

The Digital Transformation of Education Order Description Article Review consists of four parts: (1) basic identification of the author and his or her work; (2) a summary of the article or book; (3) how or where the article fits in with the rest of your research or the field generally; and, (4) your evaluation of the article. Part 1 – basic identification. This should be in University of Chicago or APA format, listed near the top of the page, left justified. Include any information you would for a bibliographic reference. Part 2 – summary. Spend 2-3 paragraphs summarizing the essential content, ideas, and thesis of the author. This should be as objective as possible a look at the topic covered, author’s view, scope, and arguments contained within the article or book that you read. Your opinion of the work (whether you liked it, thought the person did not use proper technique, etc.) should not be registered here. Part 3 – fit. In this section you should endeavor to connect this article or book to the other works that you have reviewed as part of your project. Try to connect this article or book with the larger scholarship in the discipline or, at a minimum, with the text for the class (for example, if you read an article on newspapers in the 1760s you may want to connect that article to others written on the American Revolution). Plan to write 2-3 paragraphs on this part. Part 4 – evaluation. Write 1-3 paragraphs in which you discuss your view of the article/book. Feel free to quote briefly from the article/book to support your points. Consider the tone of the article, its theme, whether it was enjoyable, how it may or may not help the reader to understand the topic, the author’s style, and whether you believe the author’s argument is ultimately successful or fails in some way. Format – 2-3 pages, double spaced, 12-point type, Times or Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins.
