Paper 4: The Martian The Basics: This paper should focus The Martian. If you feel it is appropriate, you may make comparisons to contemporary or other legends provided your main focus remains on The Martian. The Topics: You may choose from any one of the topics below or you may create your own. • Answer any one of the questions listed in the back of the book. You should choose a single question that allows you enough discussion for 4-6pages. • Elaborate on one of our class discussions regarding this novel. • You may compare the movie and the novel HOWEVER, your comparison should be an analysis of the similarities and differences rather than “This was the same. This was different.” My suggestion would be to look to the storytelling – we’ve been telling similar stories for a long time and each telling is slightly different.
