Topic: SPSS

Order Description Task 1: From the BSAS dataset, choose five variables that you find interesting. Describe what these variables measure, and what the level of measurement is for each. Find the most appropriate measure(s) of central tendency and distribution for each of the variables and calculate these using SPSS. What do these measures tell you about each of the variables? Task 2: Choose two of the variables you examined in Task 1. For each of these, construct a pie chart and a histogram using SPSS. What does each of these charts tell you about the variable? Is either of these graphs more useful to you in understanding the variable? Do you reach the same conclusions about the variables using the graphs that you did using the techniques you explored in the Task 1? Task 3: Develop two hypotheses using the variables from the BSAS dataset. Use a cross-tab to examine the relationship between your independent variable and your dependent variable for each of these hypotheses. What does each cross-tab tell you about the relationships between your variables? Would you say that the evidence supports your hypothesis or not?
