U2 D1 - Response to Peers

Peer 1 - Kurt Bogle Unit 2 Discussion 1 As the manager the clear decision would have to be plan 2 as it is the quickest and most efficient way to get the surveys to the employees. With email it is easily traceable and with outlook or lotus notes that most companies use a read receipt can be attached for accountability considering there may be a few employees who may claim to have never gotten the survey. It is much easier for management to send the email as it eliminates the need to print hundreds of documents and utilize many man hours to compile the data. With email it is easier to compile the data as we can assume that their would be a direct link to the survey where employees can complete and once submitted managers will be able to have real time data as they are received. Plan 1 is not a very effective method especially with technological resources available to make the process more efficient. With a dependence on employees with a red badge is not very efficient as there may be some who remove the badge before exiting the seminar which would result in inaccuracies when reporting the data. Another flaw to consider in plan 1 is not knowing if all employees less than a year were actually at work that day. In larger corporations it would be harder to determine as there could be vacations and call offs limiting the accuracy of the data. Bowerman, B., O’Connell, R., & Murphree, E. (2016). Peer 2 - Tanesha Sharp U02D1 As a human resource manager for Gorman Industries, LLC and giving a short survey to a sample of recent hires to determine how happy they are with the company. There are several thousands of individuals with less than one year with the company and the best way to get a sample is by using plan one. Standing at the door as people are entering and leaving a quarterly employee communications meeting. With red badges to identify the newly hired employee, they will be given packet with a surveying and instructions inside. It will be a good idea to have tables and chairs off to the side where they can actually complete the survey right there on the spot, to get a better chance of receiving the surveys back. It will cost more money to print out the surveys, but to get the most accurate result, this will be the best way to go about doing it. Especially if it's a quick survey, it will take no time to fill it out and just turn it in. People are more likely to complete surveys on the spot instead of getting an email and planning on getting around to it and never do. One would prefer plan two because it saves money and time. However, I don't think it will be the most effective way to get the response needed to have the most accurate results Respond to both peers in separate paragraphs from the perspective of the human resources manager..
