Assignment: Valuing Diversity Paper: The Homeless The purpose of this assignment is to provide you an opportunity for direct personal experience with diverse people, lifestyles and belief systems. Awareness of and sensitivity to differences (gender, culture, religion, physical ability) in our lives and society are important to our personal growth as well as others. Your "Diversity Experience" will be one that immerses you in an environment distinctly different in culture, ethnicity, ability or life style from your own. It will provide you the chance to speak with people in that setting so you may reflect on this interaction in your essay. Your paper should reflect on your feelings, thoughts, and expectations before your activity; your feelings, and thoughts during your activity; and how the experience has changed or affected how you think and/or feel about this particular group of people. You must include research from articles or studies already completed on the homeless. You must cite your sources in your paper. Use various resources that are available to you, which could include interviewing a homeless person(s).
