water waste 2 Order Description Describe the biological based on-site treatment of an industrial wastewater stream. The treatment system can be aerobic, anaerobic or a combination of both. Potential industries, but not limited to, include: food; dairy; pharmaceutical; brewing; pulp and paper; chemicals etc.. Required in the report are the following (use diagrams where appropriate): • a brief outline of the overall industrial process (including what the final product(s) are); • source(s), strength and composition of the raw (untreated) waste stream(s) - this should include descriptions of what manufacturing or operational activities create the waste stream(s); • negative impacts that these waste streams would have on the environment if not treated; • the layout and key operational parameters of the treatment plant (including the target quality of the treated waste); • disposal/use of any end products generated by the treatment process (e.g., biological solids, biogas etc.). Avoid excessive use of lists as this report should be a discussion of the above topics. The report must be fully referenced throughout the text, including all pictures or diagrams used (no more than half the references should be web pages). You must use the reference style described in the Assignment Guidelines. The report should start with the Title and then an Abstract (no more than 8 lines). These should be followed by an Introduction and then Sections that cover all the above requirements. Finally, include a Conclusion section that provides an overall discussion of the key points arising from the entire report. The Conclusion should be a half to one page long. Make sure you include at the end of the report a list, in alphabetic order, of all References used in the text (make sure that you also indicate throughout the text those sections and/or diagrams that are from references, and from which reference(s)).
