To complete the activity: Set a timer for 3 minutes During the 3 minutes, write down as many answers as you can to the question “Who are you?” When the 3 minutes is up, review your list and highlight any nouns you have included. The nouns you have listed relate to your self-concept (who you understand yourself to be); other terms relate to your self-esteem (how you feel about who you are). Reflect on your list and answer the following questions: How does your self-concept and self-esteem impact your views on communication? What aspects of your self-perception impact your role as a student? How does understanding yourself help you to be a more effective communicator and a more successful student?
